Statement rings

As far as I'm concerned, accessories can be what make or breaks an outfit. We've all seen it - a gorgeous dress on the red carpet, teamed with the most hideous necklace/shoes/handbag - which just wrecks the entire outfit, no matter how nice the dress is to begin with!

Hence why it's important to keep an eye on jewellery trends. As featured in this months Marie Claire, statement rings are a key piece for the upcoming season. I think its better to stick to one ring (ala Mary Kate Olsen) as opposed to overdoing the trend with one on each finger (yes Mischa, we mean you). As these rings are large and attention grabbing, you really want to go minimalist on the rest of your jewellery - the 'less is more' rule definately applies here. When wearing a bold statement ring, as Coco Chanel would say, remove at least one piece of jewellery before you leave the house. That way, you'll look right on trend, as opposed to being maxed out on every trend going!

This is a selection of my favourite ones from the high street. With Christmas on its way, the sparkley jewelled ones are perfect for glamming up your party dress - as Gossip Girls Michelle shows, adding much needed colour to her LBD. The quirky cute owl style from Accessorize is perfect for day or night, and the Ollie and Nic Bumble Bee style is super cute too!

The purple one (in the middle) above was just £2 from Primark. Head down to River Island quickly whilst their sale is still on. I snapped the other two up a couple of days ago for half price. Ok, so I really didn't need more jewellery, but i was actually saving just as much as i spent... so technically its like neutral ground?? no??

xoxo
