I know, this time of the year with News Year Resolutions in full swing the last thing you want to be tempted with is an abundance of delicious food… but fear not, because CC Loves you, located at King’s Road in the heart of Chelsea, will keep you right on track!

That was an offer we couldn’t refuse, and I visited one Saturday morning with my friend Ciara, where we awed and ahhed over the delicious things on offer.

Treats and nibbles

Healthy chocolate!

Whilst browsing the menu we ordered two cappuccinos, “with skinny milk, if you have it?” I asked.

Drinks

Silly question! “We have full fat, semi, skimmed, soya, rice, oat, , almond, coconut….” She replied. Wow…this is my kind of place! I decided to go for the coconut milk, whilst Ciara stuck to what she know with skinny cows milk. Whilst the traditional milk did foam up a little better, the coconut milk had a delicious but subtle sweetness to it, and I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Yum!

“You must try one of our fresh juices too – they’re our speciality,” the waitress added. With a mouthwatering selection on display in the fridges, we went for ‘Attraction’ – a freshly pressed blend of apple, spinach, celery, coconut H2O and spirulina – perfectly light and refreshing, with just the right amount of natural sweetness delivered from the fruit and coconut. What I loved especially was the little jar glasses they were served in – so cute and kitsch!

Take your pick!
The weekend brunch menu was split into Fruit & Grains (offering granolas, avocado on sourdough, acai bowls and porridge), Eggs (boiled eggs and soldiers, smoked trout omelette, and skinny eggs  benedict with parma ham) and We Love You Classics (Waffles, marinated kale salad). Unable to decide whether we wanted something sweet or savory, we decided to go half and half between the We Love You Classic Waffle Blue and Super Green Eggs.

Brunch menu
First to arrive was the Super Green Eggs, a freshly made omelette combined of egg whites and chia seeds, full of natural high quality protein from the egg whites, and healthy essential fatty acids from the chia seed superfood. Topped with avocado and green leaves, with a generous sprinkling of feta cheese and lemon wedge, the combination of both textures and flavours couldn’t have been more spot on!

Super Green Eggs

The Waffle Blue came next, and we were actually brought one each - just as well, as it was so delicious I don’t think I could have shared!

Waffle blue!

A blueberry protein waffle, it was served with a delicious smooth peanut butter (which we could have substituted for almond butter had we preferred), homemade chai berry jam and topped with fresh berries and banana.. Having not thought there could be anything that would have topped the omelette, the waffle managed to surpass anything I’d had before!!  (I’ve been craving another one ever since!)

It was only after devouring our two dishes did we look at the freshly made cakes and snacks. Raw Mars Bars (dates, cacao and gluten free oats), Bounty bites (cashew, coconut and cacao), it was the raw cookie dough balls with dark chocolate chips that just looked to go to pass on... so we didn’t! Good thing too, as these are ones not to be missed, and we took the last few to munch on the way to our next event of the day (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Musical, just incase you’re wondering. Another one that’s a must!)

Ciara enjoying her Super Greens!

All in all, I’d definitely recommend Who Loves You as a delicious place to visit for a healthy brunch in the New Year. I myself can’t wait to return for some more of those protein waffles…and hopefully leave some room to try out one of those cakes too!!

Next time!
