New spring trends : Colour Pop!

After the array of camel and nudes that dominated last seasons colour pallete, it's nice to see the trend for spring is to demonstrate your brighter side! Shrinking violets beware, this season is all about hues of vibrant violets,  radiant reds, pretty pinks - and, of course, every other bright colour in between!

Lanvin and Mulberry- Spring/Summer 2011 collections

(From Harper's Bazaar)

Pantone, the company that basically decides the 'in' colour of the season, have cited "honeysuckle" as this seasons key colour. I love the girlyness of the pinky/orangey tone, which would top off a tan gorgeously. Pity I live in Aberdeen... it'll need to be fake bake all the way! These models needn't worry about that, they pulled off the colour fabulously for the spring/summer 2011 shows:

From left : Lanvin goes all out in the honeysuckle tone. Nina Ricci softens the look combining it with paler yellow - keeping it nice and spring like. Marc Jacobs always one step ahead, topping off the honeysuckle hue with tonal chiffon.

So, convinced? I know I am! And luckily for me (but perhaps not my bank account), the stores are already stocking their 'spring bright' pieces. Here are some of my favs!

Some 'colour pop' dresses:

From left : Warehouse, £65. Coast, £115. Asos, £45.

And, of course, the honeysuckle....

From left: Topshop. Asos, £45. River Island, £29.99.

Topshop, in their from SS2011 lookbook, take the honeysuckle trend to the extreme! Whilst it looks fab...I wouldn't recommend it for walking down the street. Maybe stick to one piece! And if you are going to just choose one piece, it should definately be this bright dress by TFNC for Asos. LOVE this. Can just imagine it on the beach, pair of flat flip flops, as the sun goes down...... ah, dream. In a more realistic scenario, this shift by River Island would work. It's really cute just to throw on with pumps for uni. Plus I'm loving the Peter Pan collar at the moment, adds that little something special to the simple design. Too cute....
