The OM Yoga Show
When I was invited to attend the OM Yoga Show last Sunday up at Alexandra Palace, to say I was excited would be an understatement!!! With a jam packed day of fitness classes, health food stalls, active-wear brands and yoga retreats showcasing their upcoming holidays, I was literally in heaven!
With all my favourite things under one roof, it would be impossible to report back on it all, but I thought I would share with you my 'favourite find' from each category!
Best Yoga Class - BeamBlock Yoga
With free 'open' classes running all weekend on various stages, I had to make myself a little timetable in order to make sure I could schedule in all the ones I wanted to try!
The more advanced! |
Managing to squeeze in sessions with BeamBlock Yoga, Yin for the Hips with Gemma Soul, Yoga for Addiction at the Hero Open Class, and Compound Flow Ariel Yoga with Richard Voytak, I certainly made the most from what was on offer!
Back strengthening |
The winner of the best class, however, has to go to BeamBlock Yoga. Taken by founder and yoga teacher Thierry Giunta. Using a coloured step like 'block' to challenge flexibility and balance, Thierry created this piece of yoga equipment to work the body more than a yoga mat or any other piece of yoga floor equipment could do. Providing support and guidance during the exercises, not only does BeamBlock reduce the risk of injury, but allows the user to move seamlessly around the block connecting the body and mind.
On the block |
Coordinating myself has never been my strong point, and I loved how BeamBlock added a completely new dimension to traditional yoga!
Balance and strength |
If you'd like to try yourself, Thierry is holding a masterclass at the end of the month in Clapham. Just visit the link on Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/beamblock-yoga-master-class-tickets-28918809939 and book your ticket!
Best Food Stall - Adam's Chocolates
Plenty to try! |
I know what your thinking, I thought yoginis were all about superfood smoothies and greens, not indulgent chocolate bites?!
Free from refined sugars, dairy, gluten and soy, every bite contains:
- Vitamins A, B1, B2 and C
- Magnesium, zinc, potassium, manganese, phosphorous
- and copper
- All 9 essential amino acids
- Natural Peruvian plant sugar yacon
You'd think you were reading the ingredients of a vitamin supplement, not a tasty chocolate treat! Whilst the Goji and Pistachio was Adam's best sellers, it was the banana and coconut that won my heart. YUM!
Best Activewear brand - ILU Fitwear
Well known as a bit of an Activewear addict ( I can't help it, I work in fashion!), it was an addicts dream (or worst nightmare, depending on how you look at it!) to be surrounding by an array of fitness brands. Whilst the bigger names were on show (The Lorna Jane stand was catching a lot of attention!), my favourite part was discovering some newer more niche brands - in particular, ILU.
ILU Fitwear Stall |
Visit ILU here and see what takes your fancy - I went for the pale blue yoga jacket worn in the promo shot above. I just couldn't help myself! Next on my list is this beautiful sports bra and legging combo Mary was displaying on her stand.... this would look super cute for my next class review post!
Christmas treat maybe? |
Best Holiday Retreat - Feel Fab Yoga Retreats
Following from post on my AMAZING holiday at Ocean Soul Retreat in Bali, I know a lot of you have been asking for recommendations on retreats slightly closer to home. Whilst there were a number of different exhibitors showcasing their yoga holidays everywhere from Norwich to Thailand, it was the fun, upbeat and energetic 'Feel Fab' Yoga retreat stand that caught my interest!
Feel Fab Yoga |
Could this look any more lush?! |
With retreats in Ibiza, Portugal, Morocco, Mexico and the UK, whether you want to stay close to home or travel further away, there's certainly options! I have my eye on the Ibiza retreat.... all I can say is watch this space!
LOVE! |
The Show
All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend the OM Yoga Show - my only disappointment is that I cannot share more, as there were SO many highlights I could go on for days!
BUT - for all you followers up in Scotland, this is one event you can get involved in, as the OM Yoga Show comes to Glasgow on 25th and 26th March. Keep an eye on my instagram (@hannahfuller21) as early next year I'll be holding a competition where you can win a pair of tickets for you and a friend! Don't say I'm not good to you :P
After a jam packed day, time for Shavasana! |
